Process Feasibility Verification for Crude Oil Production Trend
An Oil field was in production through 5 degassing stations, with a production of 230000 BOPD while the total original capacity was around 520000 BOPD.
The client, a regional engineering company, was asked by the ultimate client, a EPC main contractor, to evaluate the feasibility analysis to achieve an oil production rate of 560000 BOPD.
To verify the feasibility of production profile, IPS performed the necessary calculations such as:
- Verification of the maximum theoretical separation trains capacity at each DGS.
- Verification of existing export facilities to manage the calculated maximum capacity.
- Verification of flare system in order to evaluate the adequacy of existing flare system with the new production capacity.
This new production rate was compared to the original design documents which were supplied by the client.
Design calculations were verified to determine the adequacy of the existing unit when the additional production were added. IPS also suggested the next actions that are recommended to develop the present analysis with the scope to verify the realistic production level that can be reached.
