Naco Pulping Process Description
Introduction
The Process for pulping and bleaching of annual fibers , Naco Process, was first developed by Franco Nardi, an Italian engineer with extensive experience in the design of and processes equipment in the pulp and paper industry.
The first complete commercial-scale plant based on Naco process was installed at the Poligrafico Paper Mill in Foggia, Italy. it was the only mill based on wheat straw.

In 2001 a new pulp production plant from cotton linters was built in Crotone, Italy.

The principal idea behind the NACO process was to apply oxygen delignification in a sodium carbonate solution, with certain amounts of sodium hydroxide in a reaction unit, called Turbopulper.

Since the quality of the pulp influenced by raw materials and chemicals and energy consumption in turbopulper, IPS has developed the new process configuration, defining as the process parameters on the basis of pilot plant results, scientific knowledge and new technology.
